1.1. These Forum Rules are general guidelines as to how one should conduct oneself on the forums. They are meant as a means to keep the forum a work-safe, informative, and pleasant place to be.
1.2. The Administration reserves the right to modify, add or remove any parts of this document at any time without prior notices, so whenever in doubt, re-check this page. One's continued use of the forums constitutes agreement to any changes made.
2. The Moderation Team
2.1. The majority of forum administrators and moderators are official JFFC committee members.
2.2. The Moderation Team represents the authority over the forums. If a member of the Mod Team requests for you to do something, you are expected to comply. If a moderator has no choice but to modify/delete one of your posts or threads, keep in mind that it is nothing personal. If you contest an action or view of one of the moderators, PM him/her and resolve it in an intellectual manner. Blowing a matter out of proportion by insulting, spamming and/or degrading any member of the Moderation Team be it via PM or through the forum threads is construed as an offence.
3. Registration
3.1. One is not obligated to register in order to gain access to the forum and read threads. However, registration is required to post replies, open new threads, send PMs and make use of the other forum features - in short, in order to become a part of the forum community, a unique forum account is required.
3.2. One user is restricted to only one account. This means that one may not register multiple accounts for the purpose of maintaining anonymity, trolling, advertising, or otherwise distancing content and/or supporting one\'s main account. Doing so constitutes an offence that will result in a ban. Likewise, only one person is allowed to use a forum account. Anything posted under a person\'s account is considered the responsibility of said person.
3.3. With that in mind, your forum passwords are your responsibility. Do not tell anyone these passwords, in any circumstance. Giving out or requesting someone else's password for any reason is strictly disallowed.
3.4. All information in your user profile is asserted as true and current. If there is a change in any of your personal details, do update your user profile. Note that having a valid e-mail address in the profile does not expose you to spam. There is an option to hide your e-mail address, accessible via the forum's user Control Panel. The inclusion of any Instant Message account details will help other users and/or the moderation team to contact you regarding any issue.
3.5. If you do not agree with any of the rules stated in this document, do not register an account. The Administration reserves the right to temporarily or permanently ban any forum account(s) and the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason. The Administration also reserves the right to refuse registration requests for any reason, including having an offensive or explicit screen name.
4. Forum Content
4.1. These flexible guidelines ensure you know what behavior is expected of you and what you can expect from other participants when using this forum.
4.2. The purpose of this forum is to be an informative and valuable place for JFFC members and people interested in Jazz / Fit to exchange information and discuss various topics related and non-related to the car. However, this forum is most valuable when everyone agrees to accept guidelines and rules as well as follow all relevant local, state, national and international laws and regulations.
5. General Posting Guidelines:
5.1. When starting a new thread, be sure to pick an informative title. Two dozen threads reading "LOL!! LOOK AT THIS!!" is hard to navigate. Do not use a thread topic that destroys the format assigned to the forum. (Abusing the length of characters, for example).
5.2. When replying to a thread, make sure the posts' content does not change the thread's format. (e.g. a line of 100 exclamation marks or a huge picture making the page scroll sideways). Always be aware of what you're posting. "I was drunk" or "I was angry at the time" does not nullify an offense counted against you.
5.3. Member moderation is strongly discouraged. If you see someone circumventing or otherwise breaking a forum regulation, posting a reply solely to state that a rule has been broken loosely constitutes as spam. The report feature is there - make use of it, or PM a moderator.
5.4. Offensive posting is strongly discouraged. Due to the huge variety of personalities present in today's society, disagreements are unavoidable. However, keep disagreements in a civilized manner, and if at all possible, resolve all personal conflicts via PM. Note that there is a clear distinction between posting for the sake of making a different opinion heard and posting for the sake of insulting others.
5.5. Always be aware of the informational value of your posts. If someone answers a question, for example, posting something along the lines of "^^ can meh.....~~~~~" is non-informative and does nothing more than cluttering the forum unnecessarily. Repeating extremely obvious facts is akin to walking along the street and making loud comments like "It's a traffic light!" and "That post box is red!" – Kindly refrain from such behavior.
5.6. Be aware of the forum's Private Messaging feature. PMs allow the forum members to clarify and discuss anything related and non-related to Jazz / Fit privately. These forum rules, however, are guidelines for in-PM contents as well. If a forum member is openly insulting in a private message, contact a moderator. Bear in mind that falsifying information about private messaging with the intention of getting another forum member into trouble is a serious offense.
6. Images, URLs and Advertising
6.1. Keep anything offensive and/or pictures that are not meant for everyone's eyes off the forum or limit them to an URL and a clear warning. Pornography and content deemed violent/gory are strictly prohibited.
6.2. Keep signatures down to a reasonable size (both dimension-wise and file size-wise). A general guideline would be a total sign height of 600 pixels wide and 150 pixels in height, and 75kb file size, including both pictures and text. Pushing these limits slightly doesn't count as an offense, but Administration reserves the right to modify a person's signature without prior notice.
6.3. Post content, URLs or attachments pertaining to illegal content such as, but not limited to, warez, illegal mp3s, hacking programs, hacking sites, cd keys/serial numbers, cracks and malicious computer code of any type are prohibited, even for the sake of information.
6.4. Avatar size is limited in board default to 100kb in size and 128X128 pixels in size. However please do not put objectable images as your user avatars. This include sexually explict images, political messages, or edited avatar of other members with the intention to insult or flame.
7. Warning and Banning System
7.1. When a forum member violates one of these rules, a warning will be issued via PM (in addition to whatever actions are deemed necessary in public threads) A member is allowed three warnings before more severe action is taken. If, after three warnings, a member continues to disregard the forum rules, a permanent ban will be imposed.
7.2. The following activities are considered offenses that warrant a warning:
7.2.1. Harassment, vulgar, sexually orientated, threatening, tortuous, unlawful, abusive, calumnious, racially and/or ethnically offensive post content, revealing unpleasant personal information about another forum member.
7.2.2. Re-setting a signature and/or custom title to its original state after it has been edited by an administrator.
7.2.3. Consciously spamming with the sole intention of enhancing one's post count.
7.2.4. Posting illegal material, including but not limited to: warez, illegal mp3s, hacking programs, hacking sites, CD keys/serial numbers, and cracks.
7.2.5. Posting pornographic and/or excessively violent/gory material and/or pictures.
7.2.6. Being openly offensive to another forum member, both in public threads or via PM.
7.3. The following activities are grounds for an instant ban without warning. In addition to these, severe cases of the above activities may result in the warning stage being totally bypassed. (e.g. posting goatse pictures deserves no warning)
7.3.1. Impersonating someone else or creating a false identity to mislead others.
7.3.2. Being openly offensive to a representative of JFFC or any member of the moderation team.
7.3.3. Being openly offensive or trolling against a large group of people.
7.3.4. Posting proprietary or confidential information.
7.3.5. Posting malicious computer code of any type.
7.3.6. Intentionally circumventing the listed rules or trying to find legal loopholes.
7.3.7. Falsely reporting activities/information about another forum member to a moderator with the intention of getting that forum member in trouble.
